Al momento la battaglia legale di Sony contro i jailbreak si sta muovendo su più fronti dall’hardware, con il rilascio del nuovo firmware, alle aule dei tribunali. alle aule dei tribunali. Solo nei giorni scorsi il colosso giapponese ha depositato un’ingiunzione per respingere la class action mossa nei suoi confronti. Alcuni utenti hanno contestato a Sony la rimozione della possibilità di installazione di sistemi operativi alternativi su PlayStation 3 avvenuta mesi fa con il firmware 3.21. La difesa di Sony si basa sui termini di servizio del Playstation Network: l’utente finale non è proprietario del software nella console.
