Secondo i dati raccolti, aggiornati al 25 gennaio, sono 69 milioni gli account registrati a PlayStation Network, cosa che ha portato Kaz Hirai ad annunciare che l’80% delle PlayStation 3 diffuse nelle case sono attivamente connesse a internet con un certo utilizzo da parte degli utenti, sebbene non sia chiaro se la stima sia legata ad una considerazione univoca degli account legati ognuno ad una console.
Gli account in questione riguardano inoltre anche altri prodotti Sony, come le TV, dunque non sono limitati a PS3 e PSP. I download complessivi sul servizio online finora sono stati 1,4 miliardi.
