PS3: Video Unlimited al via negli USA
In occasione della conferenza stampa dell’IFA di Berlino, Sony aveva annunciato un totale cambio di strategia della sua piattaforma di distribuzione di contenuti in streaming VOD. In futuro avremo una sola piattaforma gestita da Sony Entertainment Network con l’accesso ai nuovi servizi “Music Unlimited” e “Video Unlimited” che sarà accessibile indifferentemente dai vari dispositivi Sony: PS3, PC portatili, Smart TV, smartphone, tablet e lettori multimediali.
Sony Computer Entertainment USA annuncia ora l’avvio di “Video Unlimited” su PS3. Il servizio è al momento dedicato solo agli utenti statunitensi e fino al 11 ottobre esclusivamente agli abbonati PlayStation Plus che possono fin da ora accedere alla nuova piattaforma di distribuzione dei film e serie TV in streaming VOD. L’interfaccia grafica è stata completamente ridisegnata e “Video Unlimited” sostituisce completamente il servizio di VOD fino ad oggi presente in PlayStation Store. All’interno della nuova piattaforma è stato, inoltre, integrato l’algoritmo di ricerca sviluppato da Gracenote (acquisita da Sony nel 2008) che consente di accedere a informazioni, effettuare ricerche e ottenere suggerimenti sulla base di diverse variabili: attori principali, regista, argomenti del film o della serie TV.
